Picture Update!

I am getting so close to my due date!  I've been trying to take more 'bump' pictures. I hope to take one the day I have her.  Then, I will know how big I got with this pregnancy vs. future pregnancies.

I have to say that I feel very blessed to have seen my body change the way it has.  One of my biggest pre-pregnancy fears was that I would just be huge and not look prego. I think because I started as a bigger girl seeing the scale move down then up didn't bother me as much as it might have. I actually have a bit of anxiety about having her because of this. For the last 4 months I haven't been the chubby/heavy girl and its been nice. I just hope I can keep this momentum going forward with sleepless nights and a new baby.

Holy (little) Smokies!

Graphic maybe...but this is what I see when I can actually see my feet.

*The real reason for this post is to test the new blogger app for my phone.*

37 Weeks and counting down....

37 Weeks...

How far along? 37 Weeks!

Baby's size? 19.25 inches...6.3lbs! About the size of a Swiss Chard

Weight Gain? -7lbs from pre-baby weight.

Stretch marks? Um...yeah. I dont mind them...but Corah has  certainly left her mark. TMI perhaps...but they are like bubbled out and hurt like hell!

Belly button in or out? Its flat...but its going to flip! (I am almost sure of it.

Sleep? Can't get enough! Seriously, if I'm not at work I am napping or sleeping. I only sleep for about 30 minutes at a time though.

Foods I am loving? Marshmallows. Peeps, Chocolate Covered, and Strawberries dipped in Fluff. Its a serious problem. I don't normally care for them when I'm not prego.

Foods I am hating? Anything greasy, fired, heavy, or fatty.

Best moment this week? Being told by my doctor that she doesn't think I will make it to my due date.

Movement? Tons!

Symptoms? Morning sickness is back in full force! :( As long as it means Corah is ok...I will deal with it. Contractions off and on...but they don't seem to be actually accomplishing anything.

Gender? Girl! Corah Lyn!

What I miss? Sleeping soundly.

What I'm looking forward to? Meeting our baby girl!

Weekly Wisdom: Being dilated to a 2 means crap.

Milestone: Being technically full term. Finishing child birth classes!

Emotions: Just excited for Miss Corah to be here.

Here are some sneek peek pictures!

Busy Week!

I will have a post coming about my awesome shower that will include pictures. (I promise!)  I have my 36 week appointment and all is still well.

Thursday: After the 36 week appointment things got a bit strange.  My feet and hands became extremely swollen.  I chalked this up to being 4 weeks from my due date.  I have heard so many horror stories about the last month it didn't phase me much.  I cut out as much salt as I could and used it as an excuse to wear flip flops at work. (Though I didn't have much of a choice.) I also used this as a great time time to get the foot phobic hubs to rub my feet.

Friday: I was still quite swollen but I honestly didn't think much of it.  It was actually quite comical since it didn't hurt and wasn't painful.  Though, I was really sad I couldn't wear my wedding ring.  After work I came home and took a nap.  I woke up at 7ish to take Matthew supper.  I felt nauseous but this too is nothing new for me.  After some shopping for a few things on my before baby list I came home for supper.  I had some potatoes and baked beans before the nausea was overwhelming. I decided to go to bed. (TMI alert now!) I proceeded to vomit for the next 30 minutes instead. At 11 Matt came home and cut me up an apple. I went back to sleep.  At some point I woke up and threw the apple up to.  While vomiting I felt like I pulled a muscle at the top left side of my 'bump.' I went back to sleep.

Saturday:  After a toss and turn night I stayed in bed until noon. (Not really something that should shock you if you really know me.) I got up and got ready for work. I felt nauseous but again at this point I am chalking it up to late no fun pregnancy.  The pulled muscle was killing me and made it hard to breathe. Matt suggested I call my doctor and I told him I would on Monday.  After being at work 30 minutes I decided the pain was bad enough that maybe I should just run it by my doctor.  She was worried that the swelling and intense vomiting are signs of Pre-Eclampsia and wanted me to just get checked out by L&D if I felt any worse.  At that point my pulled muscle started radiating pain. I called Matt and we decided it was best to be safe rather than sorry so we headed in. My blood pressure was fine. (Thank goodness.) My nurse wasn't worried about the pulled muscle but hooked me up to the monitors to check on Corah.  THIS is where things get interesting.  It should be noted that I was not worried about being in labor or having her just the onslaught of symptoms at once after a normal appointment.  I expected the hospital to tell me her heartbeat and my blood pressure were fine and send me on my way.  HOWEVER! After being hooked up to the monitors for a few minutes the nurse says.
"Well, you are having some regular contractions." to which I replied...
"I AM?" In all honesty I was thinking I can't be...I haven't finished childbirth classes OR gotten to that chapter in What to Expect When You're Expecting. My contractions were only 2 minutes apart so she decided to check me. (Oh what fun!) I was about 50% effaced and 2cm dilated.  She told me she would check me in two hours and go from there.  She also ran some blood and urine tests.  I came back positive for a bladder infection which is the likely reason for all the symptoms and contractions. After calming down a bit the pain of the contractions became obvious.  They slowed to 5 minutes apart and lasting about a minute long each.  Even though this is the point that they tell you to come to the hospital they decided to send me home and I had made no significant change when she checked me.  If I was in labor I might as well be comfortable at home. If I wasn't then why was I at the hospital anyway? So, I went back to work for a few hours.

Sunday: I feel ok every once in a while I feel a contraction and its not fun.  I am not as swollen and I am not vomiting. Hopefully, the antibiotic they have started me on will stop labor if thats where I was headed.  I would prefer her to cook a few weeks longer. I have no plans to return to the Hospital until my contractions are so intense that I can't walk or talk through them.  We have however dedicated today to packing our GO bag and getting the rest of the items on our Before Baby list.

I will keep you updated!

PS...I am kinda thinking the 25 days left until my due date are a stretch!

35 Weeks...

How far along? 35 Weeks!

Baby's size? About the size of a Honeydew Melon.

Weight Gain? -10lbs from pre-baby weight.

Stretch marks? Um...yeah. I dont mind them but Corah has left her mark.

Belly button in or out? In. Though, I'm kinda thinking its going to flip.

Sleep? Can't get enough! Seriously, if I'm not at work I am napping or sleeping.

Corah actually let Matt feel her move for several minutes.

Movement? Tons...she kicks and jabs my ribs constantly.

Symptoms? Morning sickness is back in full force! :( As long as it means Corah is ok...I will deal with it.

Gender? Girl! Corah Lyn!

What I miss? Sleeping soundly.

What I'm looking forward to? My first small shower is Sunday and my friend Erica's shower is Saturday.  (We are having a Sip 'N See once Corah is here rather than a second shower before.  It will be in SWKS on the 30th of April. This way most family and friends can meet Little Miss Corah!)

Weekly Wisdom: Tums do nothing for heartburn but Chocolate Milk helps.

Milestone: Knowing I will deliver at the Hospital I'm supposed to.  Anyone 34 weeks or earlier deliver at the other hospital in town.

Emotions: Just excited for Miss Corah to be here.

*I will post more Monday(ish) after my showers. I promise to try and find a picture or two.
